Is Carousel a halal-certified restaurant?

All food prepared and served in Royal Plaza on Scotts and Carousel is certified Halal by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS). The Halal certifications apply to all open kitchen food stations in Carousel and all kitchens of the hotel. These also include the food served in the hotel’s room service and banquet functions.

The certifications are under the “Eating Establishment Scheme (Food Station)”, with strict control measures in place, operators are allowed to serve alcoholic beverages.

What is the dress code?

Smart-casual attire is recommended. Hotel slippers, open slippers, and flip flops are not permitted in the restaurant.

Reserved tables will be held for up to 15 minutes past the reservation time.

Are vegetarian options available?

Vegetarian dishes are available, though the selection may vary. The buffet features a salad and fruit station, vegetarian options at the Indian section, in addition to highlights such as the Teppanyaki live station, gelato, and chocolate fondue.

Can you guarantee allergen-free dishes?

Due to the volume and variety of ingredients handled across our kitchens, Carousel is unable to guarantee that any dish is entirely free from allergens (gluten, nuts, dairy, seafood, etc.). Guests with severe allergies should inform the team at the time of reservation.

Is there a charge for food wastage?

As part of our commitment to sustainable dining, guests are kindly requested to take only what they can consume from the buffet lines. This helps us reduce food waste and minimise our environmental footprint.

May I bring my own food or beverages?

Accepted Answer

Food from external sources is not permitted inside Carousel. Guests may bring their own alcoholic beverages, subject to corkage charges. Wine and champagne are charged at S$40++ per bottle, while hard liquor and spirits are charged at S$100++ per bottle. All bottles brought into the restaurant are subject to corkage charges, including the first bottle and any subsequent bottles. Please note that wine and champagne bottles must be duty-paid and in a standard 750ml size, while hard liquor and spirit bottles must be duty-paid and in a standard 700ml size.

Can I host a group event at Carousel?

Group dining is welcomed. Raffle draws, speeches, and gaming activities are not permitted within the restaurant. For group dining and private event enquiries, please contact us.

What is the child pricing for Carousel?

Children aged 4 to 11 years old dine at 50% of the prevailing adult buffet price.

What payment methods are accepted?

Cashless payments are strongly encouraged. We accept major credit and debit cards on site at the restaurant, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, UnionPay and JCB, as well as digital payment methods such as NETS and PayNow.
